System Requirements for Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster
Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster has the following minimum system requirements:
• 4096K free memory (5120K free memory required for Power Macintosh)
• 7MB free hard disk space
• 13" or larger color monitor capable of displaying 256 colors
• Double-speed CD-ROM drive
• System 7.0 or later
• QuickTime 2.0 or later
• Sound Manager 3.0 (if you run System 7.1.2 or earlier)
The last two system extensions are included and will be installed by the installer, if you like.
We recommend a 25MHz 68030 Macintosh or faster -- that is, a Macintosh IIci or LC III-class machine. The game is accelerated for Power Macintosh.
Note that although you must install the demo application on your hard disk, you still must leave the "MacPlay Sampler Volume Two" CD-ROM mounted on your desktop before you play. All of the game's data files are kept on the CD-ROM.
How to Play
After you stand up from the operating table, try moving the hand cursor around. Note that the hand cursor points in different directions when you move it to the left or right of the screen. While the hand points in one of these directions, click to turn in that direction.
When the hand is pointing forward, click to move forward.
You can click on some items to pick them up, such as the green Lifestone crystal. You can then walk around carrying the item. You can put down the item by clicking in some places, or use the item by clicking where you want to use it. For instance, you might use a key to unlock a door by picking up the key, then clicking on the door while the key is in your hand.
As you walk through the tower, you'll find details about Dr. Frankenstein's apparatus. Unlocking his dark secrets may be the first steps toward your escape ... and redemption.
Notes about the Demo
This demonstration version includes only a fraction of the full game. The abilities to save your game in progress and to open saved games have been disabled.
To show the menu bar, press the space bar. This will let you adjust the sound volume, and to turn transitions off if you would like to speed up the game slightly. There is also an "Interrupt Video" option; if you choose this option, you can click while a video clip is playing to stop the video.
